What is KIT Frame?
So long as you are a hands on kind of person or know someone who is, you can take advantage of KIT FRAMES' valuable framing service and save yourself a lot of money .Specially designed for artists, institutions and students, KIT FRAME is willing to provide very low cost picture framing, at up to 90% off the prices that some companies are charging.
The way we achieve this is by sharing the work load with our customers. KIT FRAME can provide frames to you in kit form, with all the necessary components cut to size and ready for assembly. All we need from you, is accurate measurements and a week to finish the job (Faster turnaround times can be negotiated).
Most frames picked up are supplied with all necessary hanging attachments. Although no tapes or staples are provided and will need to be purchased separately. KIT FRAME has a wide selection of frames and mats on offer as well as all necessary bits and pieces on sale to finish your job. We do however only give very limited advice on how to best frame your work and have a full service retail framing setup if needed at appropriately higher prices.
Designing the frame.
Basically this entails deciding what type of frame and or mats you would like, and what size you want them. We have broken these down into more detail in the frame choice & measurements sections
Pick up the frame
With bulk jobs we generally put the glass, backing mats together with the frames wrapped seperatly. For 1 off frames we will loosley assemble it for ease of transport.
Do the other half.
Now you have to assemble it all. Put simply this means placing your picture, cleaning the glass & firmly affixing the backing into the frame. There's more information on our finishing, hinging, assembly & hangers pages for those who are interested.

KIT=DIY?
Kit frame isn't really a DIY job. It is more of a finishing off and learning process. Because most of the manufacturing is done by us it's more like a flat pack solution.
