Good experiences.
We have had many customers who understood & benefited from our service. They have had a varied range of understanding & success with framing & precise manual work in the past. It is because of these experiences that kit frame suited them, & they have suited us.

One customer had an exhibition of photos coming up a month from when he sought our help. He wanted all 20 of his pictures to be framed the same way in a simple timber frame, with an off white mat board. We gave him some economical sizes & he went away & got his photos printed up. He then measured his photos, faxed through an order to us, & picked up his job 12 days later. We never saw the pictures, & he was very happy with the price of $22 each for the 400 x 480mm frames.

One of our corporate clients got a large job for some photo stretched canvas. They wanted us to provide the timber component, while they did the stretching. It was an odd sized request, so they could not find a standard ready made materials. They e mailed through an order & picked up the 1000 frames cut to 495 x 695 mm 5 days later. Which was the same day they direct deposited $11,000 for the job.

A sydney artist recently wanted a deep boxed frame made as a sample so she could gauge what an upcoming exhibition would look like. She had a good idea of the frame she wanted, though wasn't quite sure. She spent half an hour looking through our frames by herself & eventually came up with the combination she was happy with. We then photocopied her 900 x 1500mm measurement & made her frame the next afternoon. She picked it up & paid the $177.10 via eftpos.

Bad experiences.
We have also had customers that have not fully understood the kitframe ethos. Please take a moment to read just a few of the things that can go wrong when miscommunications occur.

A woman came into our shop with some pictures she was framing up for an exhibition. She told us that she wanted to do most o the work herself, & so we quoted her on a Kit frame rate. She then began to pull out the pictures & enquire as to what mount & frame looked best with her picture. We explained that such aesthetic advice was not covered in the kit frame program. She did not have a clear idea of what she wanted & therefore needed our help. She was not a suitable candidate for kit frame.

One tuesday, a large corporation ordered 200 $20.90 A2 frames from us, as a rush for the end of the week. They were happy with a simple black frame that we had in stock, so the deadline was no problem. On the afternoon of the thursday before they were due, our contact called us to say that there had been a mistake & the frames were supposed to be A3 size. As the job was nearly complete, the customer had to pay for the original order as well as the re sizing of their frames & nearly missed their deadline.

A client came to us & ordered 15 gold frames with mounts to be cut to 495 x 810mm. We finished the job & the customer came in to pick them up. He then attempted to negotiate the $36.30 price. We informed him that there was no room to move on our margins, & that if he wanted to haggle, he should reconsider. We then charged him the previously agreed upon amount & requested that he not give us any more business.
